The Mavericks Square Dance Club is primarily a social club.  We often refer to Square Dancing as “friendship set to music.”  We are all about building friendships and having fun, while engaging in a healthy and wholesome activity.  The real benefits are the people we meet and the memories we make.  Modern square dancing is done to a variety of music including classic, western, oldies, gospel and pop music.  We also do Round dancing, a type of dance which under the umbrella of square dancing.

      As a club, we try to plan and organize activities to promote our goals.  This includes teaching new dancers and making sure they have fun from the first day.  It also includes developing and retaining our current members as they continue dancing, branch out, become better dancers, or even callers.
